Producer’s feedback ( what you think of it, how you came about producing it ) In the making: Overall I’m pleased with them. These tracks are really inspired by the sounds I’m hearing today. There’ so much amazing music out there it’s hard not to take inspiration from it. Hopefully my tracks are a representation of the different music I’m into. I love the Deep house sound and I’m a big Progressive House fan so naturally these elements appear in my music. DJ’ing has exposed me to an outstanding array of production talent and only served to fuel my own passion to make music. Echo Base I made with the dancefloor in mind and Aztec I imagined would be a warm up tune, deep but still melodic but defintely more laidback.

Track title: Everytime Renegade
Signed/unsigned: Unsigned
Abit about the track itself: The vocal came around as I was looking at two CDs on the desk that had those words as titles. It sounded cool and worked as a deep vocal sound. It is me doing the vocals and they are heavily warped, phasered and reverbed. The track took 2 weeks to complete although 70% was done on one day when I revisted the track. Produced through Reason 3.0 and Garageband.

Producer: Elliot Wright

Name of Track: Get The Funk

How long producing :I started on FL Studio about 2.5 years ago now just making some loops and some very poor minimal techno however I caught the bug and invested lots of time learning the software and watching countless vidoes until I felt I started to improve and then sent out my first track.

My first track to get signed was a 3 track EP on influential house including tracks I like you and Mouth to foot. These EP managed to get plays from Laurent Garnier and Phil Thomson. From this encouragement I decided to give up on djing and spend my time making tracks instead.

I perserved with FL studio until Jan 2008 when I got a nice mac for my 30th birthday so I made the switch to Logic 8 and am loving it from that point on.

So now I mainly use just the Logic 8, some cheap monitors and good headphones + a couple of other synths namely Rob Papen Predator and NI Massive.

During my days on FL Studio I managed to release 20 tracks with lables such as Influential House / Redking records / sinsation sound and Christian records.

My track Ilford depot got a play on pete tongs fasttrax show and was signed to his label bedroom bedlam.

My track wire in the blood was picked up by a writer for nocturnal magasine and made there top 20 in march of this year.

This year has bought a good climate for me and my tracks have started to sell well getting on several fast movers charts and getting plays from dj’s such as Sarah Main, DJ Rollo, Jorge Jaramillo, Eddie Thoneick and Kriss darang.

I spend most of my spare time making tracks away from my day job – an accountant and also having 2 kids as well means I dont get as much time as I would like.

Producer inspiration comes from Martin Buttrich, Steve Anegllo, Eric Prydz and also from our very own harnessnoise who i think are set for big things in 2008.

Future productions include :

Peter Lazonby – Wavespeech ( Elliot Wright remix) – Northen Exposure records
Terry Farley and Rocky – Blue Magic ( Elliot wright remix) – Influential House
Harnessnoise – row of pigs (Elliot wright remix) Hush recordings
Harnessnoise – Monoconflict ( Elliot wright remix) Cubism
Harnessnoise – Cashing In (EW REMIX) Influential House
Greg Mak – We G Deep ( Elliot wright remix) Redking
Domsko – Snider ( elliot wright remix) Influential House
Terry Farley – The smoke ) EW REMIX – influential house
Dave Bernardi – Tonic ( Ew remix ) influential

Elliot Wright – Late trains ( inc Harnessnoise remix) Influential
Elliot Wright – (Fateless inc harnessnosie remix + Justin steel) influential
Elliot Wright – Beginning Start – Influential
Elliot Wright – 2 new tracks on new label “We continue”
Elliot Wright – 2 tracks on redking
Elliot Wright – 1 track including remixes on Sinsation sound.

Name of Producer: Owen Johnston
Name of Track: 8 Bit Elektro
How Long Producing: (dont understand this question sorry) – Been producing for a year/spent about a month producing this track
Software/Hardware used: Software – Ableton, Vstation, Bass Station, Simpler. Hardware: Alesis Photon X25 MIDI Controller
Signed/Unsigned: Unsigned
Producers Feedback: For this track i had the hook recorded for quite some time as i was trying to build a dirty electro house track but at first it was very basic and then i kept coming back to it and adding different things until eventually i came up with this – 8 bit elektro!

CONTACT: info@djlunik.com www.djlunik.com (this diverts to my myspace – wwww.myspace.com/djlunik)

Producer: Lunik
Time spent Producing: probably about 2 whole days per track
Software/hardware used: for On the train I used Logic Pro 8 with an 808 drum machine and some samples. For Spasbo it was Logic Pro 7
Signed/unsigned: these tracks are unsigned
Information on the track(s): ( abit about the track itself ) On the train is about a journey on a train (surprising eh Wink and the sounds that you hear on that journey. Spasbo is basically about a Spanish version of an Asbo – inspired by meeting some people at Sonar last year, who had the police come round to their apartmento cos of the noise they were making.
Any other work completed or to be completed: loads – have more tracks completed, and several more in the pipeline, including a remix of Danny Tenaglia’s Music is the Answer

Other Tracks in 2008: Northern Soul, Deep Breath with a new EP underway at the moment.
10243:
10243 is my homage to the more traditional school of techno, no clicks n cuts in this one. I’ve always loved real stripped back tracks and that warehouse feel and I’ve gone for that vibe with this track, based around a series of increasing dubbed out synth chords and a punchy bass-kick it. The title owes itself to a sound I’ve been loving over the last couple of years (its a post code somewhere in Europe Wink) and once again shows my obsession with the darker, more industrial side of techno.

Producers feedback: When i entered this remix competiton i knew there would be a lot of people producing trance remixes but since the original was trance i knew there was no point in trying to better it with a trance mix of my own so i went for something a little different – a progressive sort of remix. if you liked this remix please vote for it at http://www.beatportal.com/remix/contest/paul-van-dyk-for-vandit/
Any Other Tracks in the Making: At the minute i’m working on 4 different solo tracks (all techno) and a further 2 collaboration tracks (tech trance). all these should be finished (i hope) by mid july.

Producer’s feedback: In my opinion, producing is always a challenge to open up your inner soul, find the message and communicate it to the listener. This track makes me close my eyes and dream. It takes me to a place where there’s peace and that’s what I want to show to the listener. That music is about being free, with no boundaries, it’s about soul, and feelings. This track is deep and atmospheric, yet so groovy and melodic. I just love listening to it! I hope other people do too Smile

Producer Feedback: This track was an idea i’d had for a while. I’d been knocking together some deep proggy tracks or deep ambient tracks but felt like a change. Most music i mix is electro breaks and so i ended up making this gritty, quite dark experimental broken beat track. Its a funny one to put in a genre and not everyones cup of tea but it has grown on me quite a bit. Its a difficult one to categorise; Start a competition – Come up with the best sub-genre for this track.

Name of Track: I Was Made For This

The track is called “I was made for this” It was played on Radio One recently (22nd May on Huw Stephens Introducing show), so any more airplay would be much appreciated.

This version is a stripped down version of the original track, which has more lyrics. It’s basically about the fact that I feel that I was made to create music. The main lyrics are “I was made for this” and “keep me alive”. Think that sounds a bit arsey but it’s not about that. I don’t believe in a God or a higher being, but I do believe that each of us has a purpose, and mine is to create music. It sounds a bit philosophical, and deep, and like I say could be interpreted as being a bit arsey, but it’s just a fact: This is what I love doing – creating music. Pretty simple really Smile

I used Logic Pro 8 to create the track. I’ve been producing for several years, and I also DJ – hence the name DJ Lunik Wink

I have been picked by DJ Mag as their Top Pick of Pick ‘n’ Mix back in March/April 2007

Deep Within:
Deep Within continues along the dub techno route of my Northern Soul tune and is inspired by a lot of that music I love such as Quantec and Andy Stott. Its a stripped back,119 bpm dubby trippy with changing layers of analogue synth sweeps all underpinned by a steady 4/4 beat to keep you locked in. I really enjoyed working at a slower pace with this track and it seems to give the synths real space to get lost in, I’ll definitely be working on a few more tracks in this vein.

Producer Feedback: This one came about randomly one afternoon. I always make bits and bobs and i just started throwing a few together then making melodies on some deep atmospheric pads and the track just came from nowhere. After the feedback from my Afterhours mix i felt i’d like to make some chilled out music myself to use on Volume 2. This is the first track produced for the EP, finished Papaya earlier in the week so that will appear soon. The dophins sounds came about after i decided to add some soothing sound effects. Papaya has similar, subtle sound effects aswell
